Par 24?

Okay, so we went golfing as a family on Saturday. We thought we would do 18 holes, but apparently that was ambitious when having Gavin and Garek with. Plus it was only the second time I have gone golfing. (I spent time at the driving range last year, but not much time on a course). Matt has gone a few times this year already so he was trying to help me out. Even Gavin and Garek went with Matt on Thursday so they were all set. I have never been on the course at Shoreland so I did not know what to expect. Let's just say there are a few Par 5 holes on the front 9. My cue for a more difficult hole coming up seemed to be Gavin..."I am not doing this next one" Then I knew it was bad. And when we were coming around the corner to one such hole Matt even said "So how is your yodeling these days?" It was a hole at the top of a huge hill- yikes! But I will tell you I did better than Matt on that hole- only that one. It helps that on his first drive, he hit it onto the neighboring fairway ;)

Needless to say it was windy on Saturday, and there were several times that other golfers would come over to play a ball when they were supposed to be on a different fairway. So the fact that I stayed on my own fairway all the time makes me feel good! At one point though, as I approached a hole with a left dogleg- apparently this means that there is about a 90 degree turn to the left between where you tee off and where the hole is (and a lot of trees). I was pretty sure that for me, the novice golfer that this hole was equivalent to a 24 par. It turns out it did not take me that many hits (my arm thanks me), but I do seem to like trees.

So the boys and I had fun golfing on a Saturday afternoon/evening and it kept me away from the temptation of homework and work at home- yay!

I was going to put pictures on here, but my thoughtful husband (love you Matt) was taking raw file pictures, which means I now need to first convert them on the other computer. I will have to do that later,

I don't have a clue how to golf so I'm sure you did better than I would. Sounds like you guys had a good time - can't wait to see some pics (isn't RAW fun? haha)
