Matt is on the fishing trip (funny, several of us bloggers can refer to "the fishing trip" and we know what we are referring to). Anyways, he goes on the fishing trip at the same time as I have an overnight all school field trip. This year, Gavin also had a school trip on Friday. So he had an overnight at his friend's house (on a school night, none the less) so that they could both go on the field trip. He had a blast. Garek, on the other hand, came with me and then got to go to ValleyFair on Friday. Garek rode the "Mild Thing" (the kiddie version of the Wild Thing Roller coaster) about 15 times!! My sis in law Jody was great enough to bring down some of our northern MN students so they could participate in the field trip and she brought Kaleb with her. Much to Garek's dismay he could not convince Kaleb to go on rides with him. One of the parents that was with us, offered to watch Garek and Kaleb so that Jody and I could go with a couple of my students on the Renegade Rollercoaster. It was a super ride!! It was the first rollercoaster for my students and they loved it too. In fact, one of them said he wanted to go again- yay. Going on a rollercoaster also fulfilled one of my 101!! Yay!
To continue with the busy weekend... This morning we had soccer practices and games and I managed to bring the boys grocery shopping without many extras. The boys and I spent most of the afternoon outside, I did yard work and some plant transplants while they rode bikes and played in the yard (There is a bike path that goes through out back yard and the boys ride back and forth on it). Tomorrow we will go out to our vegetable garden and start getting that ready (now that the weather is finally cooperating in MN).
The boys are also looking forward to the return of daddy. It is amazing how much more smoothly everything runs when both parents are home!!
