As Matt mentioned a few times in the last couple of blogs, I was traveling home for part of my mother's day. I got on an earlier flight that I had reserved- yay! So I ended up surprising the family and arriving at Matt's Symphony concert. I was able to go out to dinner with my boys (and Matt) and my mom and Jim. That was nice. When we got home (it was still standing), the boys gave me their homemade cards and the present they helped daddy pick out. They gave me an nike+ ipod accessory for my ipod. For those of you who have never heard of it (as I would expect is the case), it is a little thing I can clip to my shoelaces that will communicate to my ipod and actually speak through the ipod telling me how fast I am running, how far I have gone etc. It can even change the song for me when I need a boost. I will let you know how it goes when I get to use it.
I also thought I would share the poem Garek created at school. You will note, that he may have confused his favorite things with mommy's, but it was really sweet.
My Special Mother, by Garek
My mom is the most wonderful mom in the world.
She is as pretty as a bug.
She weighs 30 pounds.
She likes to go to McDonald's
She is 30 pounds tall.
Her favorite color is brown.
I think my mom looks great when she is going to church.
She likes to eat macaroni.
I wouldn't trade my mother for a dollar.
I LOVE YOU!
Okay, so maybe none of it matched my likes, but it is important that I cannot be traded for a dollar!!
